Dr. Chang is Retiring
January 15, 2019
After 9 years at Cupertino Optometry, I am retiring. My last day as the primary doctor at this lovely clinic is January 31st, 2019.
I write this with a grateful and appreciative heart. It has been an honor and a sincere pleasure to have been your eye doctor. I met so many interesting, smart, and vibrant people – many who have become personal friends. I loved helping you see your best, and I especially loved witnessing the goals we set for your vision coming true over the years. I am grateful for your trust and respect and patronage. With your support, I got to be the best type of eye doctor: never rushing through exams, solving unique vision puzzles, crafting the most cutting-edge custom contacts, witnessing many first moments of clear eyesight, making new friends, and working with the best staff. Your support allowed me to build a clinic and be the doctor I dreamed of as a student. You have inspired me to be better at my craft and made my work meaningful. I will always treasure the memories. Thank you.
In the next few weeks, you will meet Dr. Sharon Yang, the eye doctor who will be taking my place. A clinic takes on the character of those who run it, and Sharon is a kind and smart doctor who will share her knowledge and time generously. I liked her warmth and intelligence right when I met her, and I feel you will as well. She will be a thorough doctor, a good listener, and a good communicator. Dr. Yang received both her undergrad and doctor degrees from UC-Berkeley. She is experienced in specialty contacts and practices full-scope family optometry, including management of glaucoma and dry eye. Sharon & I will be speaking regularly to make sure your transitions are smooth. Together with Betsy, Sadie, and Ashley, the four of them will keep Cupertino Optometry the relaxed, comfortable, and competent place you have come to know. I am excited to see the new frames that Dr. Yang will be bringing into the optical!
For those who want to stay in touch, please visit Betsy, Sadie, & Ashley at Cupertino Optometry. They will pass along any personal messages.
Thank you again, from the bottom of my heart. It has been a privilege.
